Text Bomb, Text Bomb!

by | Jan 19, 2018 | Issues

It has been revealed that a bug known as a ‘text bomb’ has been discovered which affects Apples iPhone and Mac computers.

The flaw, which typically causes an iPhone to crash and in some cases restart, was revealed in a tweet by software developer Abraham Masri. On a Mac the bug causes the Safari browser to crash.

The bug can be activated by sending a text containing a link pointing to malicious code regardless of whether the recipient clicks the link.

Mr Masri states that he always reports bugs before releasing them & Apple has yet to comment.

This bug is nothing more than inconvenient and users should not be worried as the malicious code has been taken down, essentially negating the threat.
